Carl
van der Walle
made his first experience in the art of photography in the early
70ies at Rock Festivals and concerts.
In
this decade he had the opportunity of photographing most of all
Rock giants of that time.
His
portraits of The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix or Pink
Floyd,
which he made (at the same time while studying)
as a pure hobby photographer, attracted public already in the
early 70ies and were published in some regional papers.
In
the year 2002 van der Walle presented at his photo exhibition
"Sing me the Songs of Yesterday" even those pictures
of the 60ies and
70ies Rock greats and found out that there is an enormous interest
in pictures of that time. Some of van der Walle`s Who portraits
came out in the recent editions (2003) of the
German Art Rock magazine ECLIPSED.
The idea was born to offer his works on a home page of his own.
On
the site "Rock Legends"
we offer shots from the 60ies and 70ies.
The site "Recent Shots"
contains essentially portraits of the last three years as well
of classical as of recent bands.
On the site "Magic of Rock"
you can find shots, which are different from a usual
rock photo and which originate in creative use of the camera.
